Liking this landscape work. This, for some reason, instantly makes me feel it's British and want to stake a claim to those rolling hills and misty valleys; even if you weren't necessarily inspired by anything UK or were just improvising.

I was improvising without reference apart from the light and colours I was witnessing as I painted this during a thunder and lightning storm.
I was fortunate to visit the lake district last year and am longing to go back, it really made an impression on me. I would say this is inspired by the lake district so at heart it IS English

I'm not really a big one for patriotism but this does make me quite glad. And yes, the Lakes' are lovely and you should definitely get back to see more of them when you get the chance.
