Description
One day, George found a book. The Man in the Yellow Hat had been trying to teach George how to read, but the title of this book was very strange. How did you even pronounce a word spelled “Pnakotic”? And what was a manuscript? The book was bound closed with a belt. George was curious. What could be inside a book sealed with a belt?
George opened the book. The pages were marked with strange writing George had never seen before. There were some pictures. Most of the pictures looked like strange sea monsters with octopus tentacles where their mouth should be. There were other pictures that looked like giant stars and other weird shapes. George was curious. Could he draw some of those shapes?
George got out his watercolors and some brushes. He started copying some of the pictures from the book as best he could. As he did, he noticed something written in the margin of one page. It used the English letters the Man in the Yellow Hat taught George. But there were so many odd apostrophes and the words spelled so strangely George wasn’t sure if they were English. But George was curious. He decided to read those words out loud.
Cthulhu fhtagn! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah-nagl fhtagn
What could those words mean? George was curious. Maybe too curious….
(Curious George is a monkey. Well, chimp maybe. No mature tag due to lack of anything graphic.)
Tomorrow: Whether you grew up on the TV show Arthur or just read the books, one thing was certain. D.W. was a little demon!
