I had been writing baby scenes for Only The Bravest May Tread, and I felt the need to draw Lear with baby Alfred.
I realize Alfreds arms are like deformed crab claws but no lets forget about that... his chubby little baby arms are not easy to draw oddly enough. oops.
but listening to the song lyrics I have put up here (please listen to it it's beautiful) I notice how quite a few of the lyrics fit with how Lear feels during the story, and how much Alfred being born gave her peace and a purpose at least through her depression and loneliness.
maybe he's drooly, kind of ugly and moist and snotty but he's hers and she'll protect him forever (omggggg i want me and RatPrince 's Ivan to be friends with Alfred that would be so cute)
I really want to draw Alfred as a kid and not as a baby some, I like the idea of putting him against Asher, with Asher being a villian akin to Count Olaf lol.

well, she and Asher don't have a child. neither of them can have children. but in a different story, she and Sleyf's Yianis have a few babies.

yes, it's not house of hatters, this is OTB where we awkwardly combined our two original universes together, with Animali and Wyches forced to coexist. Lear and Yianis are married for political reasons, so Lear doesn't feel like she belongs, nor that Yianis loves her (being married to a "beast" is a bit of a humiliation for a noble blood)
and she misses her brothers.

Awww well its not easy drawing a pose like this, holding a baby. I like how they're looking at each other, very loving and I can forgive all the slobbering moisture. I have yet to listen to the song
