Description
Concept art for a new inspector/detective/investigator character.His name is a play on my family surname Gilyard.
His middle name is Scott (which in combination with Yardley) evokes "Scotland Yard", as a tip of the hat to the police force of London.
Oh, and of course the pipe ads a bit of Sherlock Holmes-ian flourish to complete the concept.
As far as his other characteristic are concerned, I drew inspiration from my Grandfather (WWII military service, retired Postal worker), and my uncle (College professor, author and lecturer). A combination of book smarts, street smarts, and life experience.
Inspector Yardley make his first appearance (in a minor supporting role) in the upcoming story "The Drowning Deaths".
