Description I painted this a LOOOOOONG time ago, back when dinosaurs ruled the earth. I have never showed it to anybody outside my home, so since I am part of this neat community now, I thought I would show some of my oldies.
So this is supposed to be Aslan from the CS Lewis books. Long before he was in the movies, but I love the books, so...Thanks for looking!

I will always prefer a book over a movie
A movie is like a chewed food ready to eat,but a book...is a completely different story!It lets your imagination goes wild,and somehow you relate to the author as to create the scenario and such..

Concerning this painting now,i like it very much so Is it oils?I can see brushwork alongside with a knife i believe?
All i can say Jon is this : you may not want for your personal reasons show your old stuff,but please always try to maintain a connection to it.Why? because this is the most reliable way to watch your progress I have a very few paintings of mine still hanging on my walls,but i can say with certainty that while viewing them i see now loads of things i would have done differently.. not to mention that it IS fun to see what you did 10 years ago!

Great observations and considerations! You have given me some things to think about! Yes I think you are right. I also look back at models i have built and painted, and sculptures, and know what I would have done differently today.
Thank you for your kind words! I did paint this very long ago with oils. I did not use a knife, but I left it thick in some areas.
