how'd u get the paint to go on thick enough to cover the boards? (always have that issue cus we never have canvas so i use cardboard!)

This is on wood, and yes, it is hard sometimes to fill in, but oil paints can be applied pretty thick, and that helpes a lot. Thanks for all the faves BTW!

Oils, or maybe acryics that are thicker and may work well. They both take some practice if you are not used to them..

that is true >.< and old paint gets all chunky and clumpy too making it even harder to use....if i liked to paint more i'd go buy a set but paintbrushes are hard to use, i feel so clumbsy with one

Yes, I know what you mean..and brushes are easily abused. I also would rather use pencils to do art than paints, but doing models has forced me to learn how to use a brush. The key I find with painting in oils and acrylics, even watercolors, is to let them form impressions with shadows and highlights, and dont try to make hard lines. At least at my level, I find more success that way..

sorry!
What I mean is, sometimes you can use dark and light colors in such a way to make it look really good, without drawing really solid lines, but kind of make a "feel" for what you see..I will try to think of a good example of what I mean and send it to you. Google Impressionism, it may show you some examples too.
