Well, I could picture you as Medaka from Medaka Box wrapped up in her speciality of the straitjacket. It makes sense to use a fabric that is a bit bulky and strong enough to make it look and feel inescapable with three or maybe four belts to use as straps and buckles. If that does make you feel sweaty, you could a wear a swimsuit or a thin pairs of a shirt and shorts underneath it. The only down side about it is you might feel uncomfortable with the tightness and limitations, which I do understand why a straitjacket costume isn’t for everyone.
