Description This is the first drawing I did with my tablet in a very long time. I'm pretty satisifide how it turned out, but I don't really want to think about how much time I spent on this. The drawing took me at least 18hrs in total (probably more). I had to re-setup my computer somewhere in the middle (took me ages to get to it) because the tablet driver didn't work anymore.
I spent the last four hours doing this and got so tired that at one point I could have sworn the dragon blinked at me

This is ment to be an entierly new species. The concept poped up in my mind while I was eating lychees^^
The species is called fruit spirit, insted of hatchin from an egg they grow in a fruit (which they later resemble). This only happens if the plant is very well loved by it's care taker. It can happen with any fruit baring species (and flowers too). Esentialy these beasts are the consciousness of a plant taking form. Usually fruit spirits are about 10cms long but can grow to the size of a horse if needed.

I had a lot of trouble with the background, so I hope it turned out ok

Comments are appreciated

~cheers

I love the fruit spirit concept! Very clever and colorful design. I love the shine on his scales and the uniquely shape wings.
Hmm, I've never had a lychee before! I'm awefully curious about what they taste like...

Thank you very much
Lychees are quiet good, if a bit hard to peel.

Wow, you can really tell all the work that's gone into this. All the detail on the scales and the wings is pretty impressive! Don't be discouraged to do it more because of the amount of time you spent on it. Digital art speeds up so much with practice. To refer to my own experience, this piece took me about 25 hours and this one took me 8 or 9. There's only three years of practice between the two!

Looks like 18 hours well spent, you ahve put a lot of great detail into it, good job on the grass too, I find that really hard to draw

Thank you very much I'm glad you like it. The grass was actually easier to draw then I thought.
