Hello Leogon

I sent you a message a little while back asking if I may use this image in a book we are working on. Your reply to my message seems to have disappeared - I'm new to deviant art so I logged on but I think something went wrong somewhere! Anyway, I'd love to use this image. Can you please email me on kath.northam@btinternet.com and I can let you know our budget and image requirements. Many thanks

formidable y lo mas importante muy probable que esta escena haya sido comun importa poco quien cazo al equido, solo hay comidad para uno de ellos

Well, if I be able to understand correctly,I should say yes,no matter who hunted the horse first!

MagicBirdie [2013-09-28 18:11:55 +0000 UTC]

Really great! Perhaps you could have made some blood and wounds on the dead animal

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Leogon In reply to MagicBirdie [2013-09-29 06:26:58 +0000 UTC]

Thanks dude!

Yes,I would like to do that! But some groups already think there is enough bloodshed in this work to be refused in their gallery!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MagicBirdie In reply to Leogon [2013-09-29 13:14:40 +0000 UTC]

That's too bad. It's only realistic, though. That animal didn't just randomly die at the very sight of a predator

Leogon In reply to MagicBirdie [2013-09-29 13:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Haha! I like the last sentence so much! You know, I painted the holes of sabers on the horse's neck but they are sort of hidden behind the grasses.

MagicBirdie In reply to Leogon [2013-09-29 14:22:47 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... Oh, I do kind of see the holes.

This artwork is amazing and very detailed! You could add a little more contrasting shadow to the animals to match the background, but that's about it.

Keep up the good work!

Leogon In reply to Sylvanimus [2013-09-28 08:17:35 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot. The light and shadow levels in this work need some alteration and I am planning to do that.

bovidaeloony [2013-09-12 13:03:13 +0000 UTC]

Very very nice! The only thing I can come up with (and I think some folks already touched on this) is the light. In the background on that hill there are some sharp shadows, which imply intense light from a very specific angle. On the figures in the foreground you have very soft, diffuse shadows coming from the other direction. Unifying the light sources is one of the hardest things about using photos as the background to a piece in my mind The next hardest thing is integrating the figures into it seamlessly, which you pulled off perfectly!

Leogon In reply to bovidaeloony [2013-09-14 07:03:46 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot.I read your critique thoroughly and it was really helpful for me. I try to re-adjust light and shadows as soon as possible.

the render is wonderful-- the only thing i feel it lacks is good lighting. even "cloudy day" light would be more defined; but light is... difficult to get right.

you're so good with 3D though, (really!) i think it'd be no fool's errand for you to practice some light skills. i don't think using the 3d program, but on another layer using a raster technique.

really gorgeous work, and i'm glad you asked for improvement. an image so close to perfect, i felt like i wanted to just say that one little nagging thing.

Leogon In reply to sparkpenguin [2013-09-08 12:40:44 +0000 UTC]

Many thanks for the professional comment.and I'd like to assure you I don't consider critiques as little nagging.I take them to enhance my work.

I think you are right about light, even myself had a feeling of something wrong with light! so,I decided to let it alone some days and then come back to work  and do some correction.

Unfortunately I don't have much experience with 3D programs, All you see in my works are created by 2D's like PS.

Anyway, I'm going to do some alteration in this work and I would be glad to have your advice again and always.

I have never used any of that.I don't have time to check on other software.I am sure those brushes help to finish the job soon especially for designs..I am sure it should be fun using those things. What i do is time consuming.lol.

Leogon In reply to SameerPrehistorica [2013-09-07 07:08:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but they are not of much help to finish a work soon rendering of each animal took me at least 12 hours!I usually choose to work on animals in big size and resolution and after finishing the work ,I reduce the whole size.
