A woolly mammoth(Mammuthus primigenius) is sniffing the still cold air of a permanent Winter to trace the smell of the Spring.During the Pleistocene long Winters were not an uncommon experience for the mammoth steppe megafauna.I made this big guy based on the famous Siegsdorf specimen,which is considered as one of the latgest males ever found.
