Description
|†| "Such an unfortunate event." |†|
GENERAL INFORMATION:
FULL NAME: Tiera Rauanheimo
SPECIES: Witch, gave up humanity.
GENDER: Physically male but any pronoun goes
DATE OF BIRTH: 7.9
AGE: 206
HEIGHT: 176cm
WEIGHT: 80kg
OCCUPATION: Medic
STATS:INTELLIGENCE: 6 / 20
Rather intelligent, understands and learns new things like any other person.
WISDOM: 11 / 20
When you live for 200 years, if you don't gather intel and understanding of the world around you, you've wasted your time. Tiera's seen a lot, and he has wide perspective on most things.
RESOLVE: 6 / 20
Tiera likes to ponder problems and is not in any hurry to solve them quickly. He trusts in the "slow and steady" method.
STRENGTH: 6 / 20
Not exactly super strong, but not really super weak, either. Age has crept on him and Tiera's lost his edge, but don't believe that he's weak simply because he relies on magic. His stamina is better than his actual strenght.
DEXTERITY: 5 / 20
Again, slow and steady. Not really the best but not that shitty either.
MAGIC: 7+8=15 / 20
Almost 200 years of studying magic is a long time. In that time Tiera's had a lot of time to study and learn skills normal humans cannot understand, to an extent where he is no longer a human.
PRESENCE: 4 / 20
Maybe it's his magical tattoos or simply the fact that he's learned how to move silently in the nature, but in any case, Tiera is hard to detect. Be it of his own will or not, people usually pay no attention to the old man, at least not in Transyre, where not even his clothes gather attention.
CHARISMA: 6 / 20
Somewhat pleasant, but still a bit blunt and detached. However, he does nicely under pressure.
INFLUENCE: 3 / 20
The worst part about giving up humanity was that Tiera became ridiculously suspectible and receptive not only to his own magic, but also to that of others.
PERSONAL INFORMATION:STRENGTHS & SKILLS:
- Understanding nature 101
Tiera knows which herbs to use for which medical condition, is rather good at tracking and knows your basic 101 on how to survive in a forest for even months at the time. - Kitchen surgeon
Despite having never attended any sort of medical school, Tiera has learned much from tribes’ and village healers along the way. He knows how to take care of basic medical needs. - Well-travelled
Having travelled most of his life, Tiera has seen a lot. This gives him a wider perspective and knowledge than most. - Amplification tattoos
Tiera has several tattoos on his body, most of which are scarifications meant to amplify his magical powers and give him powers beyond humans. They are his stigma diaboli.
WEAKNESSES:
- The Hermit
Tiera likes to help people, he really does, but he also does have hermit-like tendencies. There’s only so much human interaction he can handle. - Doesn’t care much for himself
Tiera doesn’t really have a low self-esteem, he trusts in his skills. It’s more about him being a bit too altruistic and having lived long enough to not really care. - Unseen, unsought
Tiera attracts almost no attention from people, and thus often goes unsought by people in need, even if he’d like to help them. Usually he finds the people who need his help, not the other way around. - Not really a human
Giving up humanity is no small thing. Tiera has lost a piece of himself in exchange for power and longevity. This, among other things, makes him suspectible to the magic of others, and his body sometimes has hard time handling the change. He has regular pains and bad eye-sight thanks to this
POWERS/WEAPONS:
- Healing - Majorr power
- Tiera can remove pains and heal minor wounds by chanting the pain away to Kipuvuori, “Mountain of Pain”. This requires for him to chant the spell and be in contact with the wound by touch. The wound will then “knit” itself together, though the process is slow.
- Animal mind-meld - Major power
- Tiera can meld minds with animals. In this state he can see, hear and feel what they do. He can even venture around as the animal, though this requires much more energy and he has to enter a meditative state, completely still and helpless. His body stays as it is, and only his mind moves between the bodies. If the animal is hurt/killed/etc in this state, Tiera, despite being physically unharmed, will feel their pain and be removed from the body, and if the animal isstrong of mind (ie. a magical beast), mind-melding is dangerous, as it relies on Tiera “over-riding” the animal’s mind.
PERSONALITY:
Tiera has sort of given up on most of his burdens along his travels, which has made him calm and detached from every-day problems. He has a very laid-back and simple attitude towards life - problems are, when you look at them, often very small, and nothing is permanent in the end. He has no need to hurry, no need to needlessly feel upset or worried. In general, he has a wide perspective towards life.
Tiera is very altruistic and likes to help other people out of habit, but at the same time he has little regard for himself. Having lived so long diminishes the meaning of life, and thus, Tiera puts the needs of others before him. He also tends to overlook many problems others are upset over, and is often overly detached from situations, not realising that not everyone can see life on as complex level he does. He’s also a hermit by nature, and dislikes prolonged human interaction. It tires him a lot. He rarely communicates well with others, rather keeping many things as his own knowledge.
He is secretly power-hungry - not many voluntarily give up their humanity. He wants power, but may not admit it even to himself.
HISTORY:
Tiera was born in Finland centuries ago. His father was a farm owner, a high status in the society of the day, but his mother was a lowly house-maid. An illegimate child, Tiera’s existence by his father was denied, and her mother with her month-old baby was chased away from the house she had served for many years.
When Tiera turned five, his mother realised she wasn’t able to take care of her growing child anymore. She gave Tiera up for huutolaisuus, a sort of an auction for children, where a person who accepts the least money for the upkeep of the child was given their custody. She hoped Tiera would have a better life this way - it would be harsh, no doubt, as the children were often made to work extra-hard, but at least he’d have food and a proper home.
Tiera was luckier than he could ever imagine. A known witch, old and fragile, agreed to take the boy with her for a ridiculously low price. She wanted for someone young to take care of her, and young Tiera would do well enough.
Tiera grew up taking care of the witch. She taught him many essential skills, such as how to deliver a baby, how to sing away pain and how to even curse someone, hoping for the boy to become someone to take her position. Tiera forgot his birthmother, and instead found deep meaning in the mentor-student relationship between himself and the witch. He wandered to forests with her, helped those who needed it, and learned so, so much.
When the witch died of old age, it didn’t really come as a surprise. Still, Tiera was lost. At mere 18 years of age, he felt alone and uncertain, like any young adult. He didn’t know what to do.
Scared of the responsibilities he was grown to assume, Tiera took the savings they’d gotten from helping people and fled to the US, the new world of possibilities. The movement over to the States was strong during the time, and despite costly, it was easy to blend in.
Tiera, in a new country which language or customs he didn’t understand, realised himself just as lost as he was when he left. So he began a search for certainty - he wandered the States for years, searching for anything new and interesting. He learned from different cultures, different shamans, different wisemen.. he learned from the nature. Tiera’s powers as a witch grew, but his humanity lessened over the years. He grew to understand nature in ways many others never could, and he learned to live from it. He wandered the wilds, aimless, with no purpose but to hone his skills and help those who needed it.
Ages changed, and 20th century, and then the 21st century crept around. Borders became smaller, life more restricted. Tiera had voluntarily given up humanity he once had, and had reached longevity and powers he hadn’t imagined before. And on one fateful day, a week or so before the trees guarding Transyre went haywire, he stumbled across the village on his aimless travels. And now he’s stuck. Still, he finds purpose in helping humans and supernatural creatures in need.
TL;DR:Tiera was an illegimate child sold to a witch in (roughly) 19th century Finland. He learned much from the witch, but after her death felt alone and aimless. He left for the States where he honed his skills and learned from different cultures and nature. His humanity was eventually lost, but his powers and understanding of world around him grew - he gained unnatural powers stronger than he’d had before, and old age seemed distant even after 200 years.
Unfortunately for him, Tiera ended up accidentally (so anti-climatic….) wandering to the village just a bit before the tree spirits went haywire. Now he’s stuck. Gosh dang it.

EXTRA: - His travelling gear is worn and torn, but he refuses to give it up. He likes to sleep outside and is in general a huge nature child.
- He speaks slowly and steadily. Despite his accent is almost indistinguishable after this many years, you can still hear something foreign in the way he speaks.
- Tiera has in many ways surpassed his predecessors, but it’s also important to ask if his powers are really worth it. Despite most witches’ powers are weak or even complete bluff, they still have their humanity intact..

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Aldahith didn’t know where he was. There was only trees and snow and a huge ammount of both of them - there seemed to be only trees and snow, as if the world was made of those two elements. And worst of all? There was nobody in sight - no Pimpernel, Eramdir, Farnynn, or even the always so annoying Herja. He would’ve enjoyed any sight of his annoying companions now, even if he would never admit it to anyone, especially himself. Aldahith didn’t exactly enjoy being lost in the woods alone.
He sat rigidly on the back of his horse, wrapped tightly in his cloak and all the blankets he had with him. An elf couldn’t freeze to death, they said, but Aldahith wasn’t too sure of it now as the cold winds raged around him, blocking the view even from even his elven eyes. For a while he had been aimlessly riding in some direction, probably north if his senses were correct, hoping to find at least the road if not his companions. Aldahith, despite telling everyone otherwise, wasn’t capable of coping in this weather without help.. especially when it wasn’t a normal weather.
He could sense that this wasn’t some ordinary autumn storm, that it was something other than the work of nature. And that was what made Aldahith maybe even scared. When higher powers meddled with weather - be they evil or good - you never knew what that weather might bring with it.. And he wasn’t thinking about thunderstorms or heavy rains.
