Fenris (from Dragon Age II) in one of his rare, not-so-broody moments.
A sketch that became something more... something that I actually like, and even managed to learn something from. Woo~

OK I'm slow because I only played DA 2 this year.Β First role playing game I ever played through all the way more than once.Β I have seen quite a few interpretations of Fenris online but this one is my favorite.Β In the game the lines of his cheek and around his mouth are some of the most appealing features and these are lost or smoothed out in many of the renderings.Β Many of the drawings I've seen online make him look about 16 years old and sort of blandly generic, soft, or cartoonish.Β To me your picture illustrates the character that Fenris develops during the game.Β It also brings out his personality - the hard edges and the pain he has suffered, and yet determined to keep going.Β With the way you drew the mouth, it makes me feel he is smiling through his pain, still hopeful despite everything.Β He still has the beautiful eyes but looks more like a warrior and less like a pretty boy.Β The hair is great, looks authentic but much more realistic than the game.Β
