Doug Rattmann (Portal) and John (Resident evil).Both poor blokes who are way too normal and sane for their jobs.
(In case you are not familiar with him from my art, John is the guy mentioned in Re, Re2 and Wesker's report, but who we never see apart from a very blurry photograph, so that's my version of him)

I always thought Umbrella and Aperture Science were similar in some ways especially GlaDOS and Wesker. They're both crazy with power and they're pretty good villians. Excellent work.

Yes, they definitely have pretty similar bussiness plans and research-ethics(Science isn't about why, it's about why not!).
Both make up stuff just because they can, are wasteful in their resources, including the workers(Working for any of them is kinda hazardous), have a love for puzzles and underground bases, and a founder who just went nutty and didn't know much about science in the first place. (Cave Johnsom and Ozwell Spencer went to the same bussiness school, I'm sure)

So he is kinda similar to John too in the sense that we never actually see him either. I took that look from the comic.

Well, he was a paranoid schizophrenic.
But still the most sane guy who worked in the whole Aperture Science.
And the only one who was kinda apprehensive about giving the insane computer that tried to kill everyone when activated access to neurotoxin.
He is a guy we never see in the games (his backstory is detailed in an additional comic, but I'm not 100% sure if it's canon) but you come across places in the labs where he has lived and scribbled warnings and crazy stuff like poems on the walls, and in Portal 2 made a mural depicting the events of Portal 1.
And yeah, even I forget about John...
