Will they be possibl some tickling scenes since she is barefoot?

I could see this being a funny one or two-off gag, one that calls meta attention to the fact that's she's barefoot, but more than that would seem out of place for this.

Did you base her design off of Maylene, The Barefoot Fighting TomBoy GYM dudette, or someone else entirely?

I didn't even know who Maylene was when she was first designed. She wasn't necessarily based on anyone. I first designed her about 5 or 6 years ago cause I didn't want to use my own name in my pokemon games and thought it'd be cool to make up my own trainer. And it just developed from there.

So, what inspired you to created Sydney?

I've always been into character design so whenever theres a game with custom characterization or just somewhere you can put your own name, I always put some thought into it and make it some kind of character. When I got back into pokemon in high school, I named my trainer Sydney. After a while I decided I wanted to draw what she would look like and make it her own character. Since then I always had the idea of doing a pokemon fan comic and drew her a lot with the type of pokemon she would have and a couple other side characters. Then one day I just decided I would go for it and create the comic.Β

Belt is leather, the buckle is metal, and the pants are cotton.

You don't have to ask to do fan art, that's always welcome as long as credit is given for the characters. And as for her team, it changes a lot throughout the comic so it's hard to define just 6, it'd have to be something I would have to think about.

Only in like close ups once it gets noticed more. So far, she's only on her second day out and she had a bed to sleep in that first night, so her feet are not really in bad shape until she starts camping between cities on routes and in forests.

she just prefers being barefoot and doesn't really like to wear shoes. It does get commented on in the next chapter I'm working on and she does end up getting shoes, she won't be barefoot forever.

Good to see someone else gets that. Β I can't say I have particular like or dislike of feet, but I can't deny that it is an under used bit of symbolism to show a carefree attitude. Β It's a bit worrisome that that aspect of her might fade away later in the comic. Β
Anyway, I'm loving the part where she gets pissed off going BACK to Oak's. Β That irked me every time I played those old cherished games. Β Keep up the good work!!
