Description
So, for anyone who has never watched the BBC Robin Hood, there’s a character who shows up in Season 3 called Meg, and she’s pretty much everything one could ask for, including being the perfect vehicle for Gisborne’s redemption. Without spoiling too much, their story does not end happily ever after, UNLESS you are privy to the musings of dreamershideaway, which I am, ho ho.Meg’s crown features red mums and tulips (love), white aster (trust), and most notably rainflower (returned love and atonement).

I love it! I never thought I could fancy Guy caring for anyone else after Marian, but Meg was amazing and their relationship was so sad and so beautiful!

I always think of the scene when she's pouting about thirsty and he tells her to suck on her necklace to make her mouth water... and she just sits back and pouts. Oddest most perfect ice-breaker.

I remember me and my sister's were obsessed with this show way back when (we were very, very green to BBC tv, and thought we were watching the best acted thing in the world hahah
Does Meg serve only to give Gisborn a redemption, or does she stand as her own character?
Also, Gisborn's clothes look gorgeous, such beautiful detail!

I heard that the show was kind of meant for kids? Which would explain a LOT, including why everyone's mortal wounds are weirdly bloodless... But yeah, the acting is overall pretty good, just the writing is often so atrocious.
I was heartbroken to see Marian go. You do really feel her absence. She didn't need to die. I have feelings about that.
Meg is a wonderful character, and though I think she was mostly there to interact with Guy, I could have watched a whole season about her. Holliday Grainger is wonderful, really natural and likable, and Meg is like... She's almost like a proto-Marian. Optimistic despite herself. I just really loved her.
I'm glad you liked this! That's the other great thing about Season 3 -- the costumes get an overhaul, and they are fuckin' gorgeous.

Oh, I love Holliday Grainger, I am a big fan of The Borgia. Alright, I am going back to watch S03, and get myself ready for their story to end in sadness
And thank GOD the costumes got better, they were that cheap "modern-looking" medieval clothes that I HATE (Merlin is a big culprit of this, JUST PUT A SCARF ON HIM! MEDIEVAL!) Does the show pretty much center around Sir Guy? I mean, if they follow the myth, Robin Hood should die off when he is still young

Well... I don't know how much you want to be spoiled. See, I think the writers were intending to have Robin and his gang be the focus of the show, but maybe they didn't realize how good Richard Armitage was going to be when they cast him, and they weren't sure how they wanted to handle him after that. His character is secondary at first.
You know something... it took me a whole season of watching Robin Hood before I realized it's not supposed to be period-accurate, like A Knight's Tale, only not that obviously anachronistic? But yeah, the vernacular, a lot of the costumes, the strong, defiant women. This show takes itself juuust seriously enough that you don't notice right away.

Yeah, if your going to go "Knight's Tale", you gotta go all the way, or it just doesn't work for me. Knights tale knew just how far to take it with the music, clothing, phrases. But yeah, it also works a lot better too, if you have a strong comedic element to balance it all out.

He always plays the type of character that I fall in love with after about .5 seconds. So if you start drawing fanart for it I don't know if my heart can handle it (but lets be real I would EAT IT UP), but have you seen North & South yet? It's the first thing I ever saw him in and it was an instantaneous beginning of a desperate, hopeless crush.

it will be an excellent palate cleanser... Mr. Thornton is like Darcy turned up to 11. So gloriously broody, and with that gorgeous northern accent too. I've had a couple of pieces I've wanted to do for it in planning stages for the past couple of years, but it is, as you say, difficult drawing men's period wear. That and I'm depressingly slow.
