Jane stands at 7.25 inches tall with the help of her wings. Handsculpted from puppen fimo polymer clay without the use of sculpting aids. Hair is viscose. Clothing is handmade and not removeable. Wings are handmade. I did put her up for sale and she is off to Australia.Related content

Just amazing. Being able to work with such detail at this scale leaves me in awe. I see you don't use molds. What types of references do you use?

I am going to start using pictures at the suggestion of another sculptor. But I typically just sculpt and whatever pops out of the clay is what I go with. I usually get really pretty elfish faces. Only problem with not using a reference is my faces start to look very similar.

I would never ever use molds. I don't have anything against their usage but my artwork would not be my own if I used another persons mold. I learned how to sculpt the old fashioned way. Trial and error and lots of practice (years).
From the first day I started, I found it rewarding to create something from start to finish. Even when it was a disaster, it was my disaster.

It all depends on what your market dictates. I'm guessing clothed figures are always going to be more popular so attract a better price, no?
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate well done costumes [and full size costumes]. But to make them...just isn't really my thing.
