This is the kind of comment I was expecting more of... and yet you put it so nicely.
To be fair, the number of frames shouldn't matter. There are static emoticons that are much more complicated than this. Even then, there are emotes that took more time to make that are not necessarily better (and I say this who has spent more time on emoticons that are worse and I can say this since I made this and those and therefore know which took longer).
Anyway, being simple doesn't necessarily make something bad. I know there are better things out there, hell I feel like I've made better, but people find this useful in terms of chat and it getting a DD has introduced it to more people, so some good came out of it for someone other than just me.

I completely understand where you are coming from, I really did expect more comments like that (especially with some of the negativity I have seen on other DDs). But the fact this is apparently so usable is its appeal I guess and that's as good a reason as any to feature an emoticon since most of them are meant to be used.
