The bleach should actually only stay in for about an hour - at absolute max. It's only lightening your hair while it's wet, so anything longer than when it dries is just extra unnecessary damage. Some bleach will differ, so just make sure to read and follow the directions on the bleach kit.

The dye itself you can leave in for anywhere from an hour to over night (never heard of anyone leaving it in longer than 24 hours). Dye is also only active while it's wet, so I recommend wrapping your hair up in foils or saran wrap after applying the dye (it traps the moisture in). I leave mine in for 6-10 hours usually.

it is not recommended, but it is possible! I dyed them blue once... it looked very odd to say the least. And didn't look much better when I bleached them blonde either! Maybe I should try a red or orange or some such though.

Thanks for the quick response. I was wondering how that would look... if it might be too much color. Did you use a darker shade of blue, or was it a more vibrant version?

No problem - it was a darker blue. I'll try photoshopping myself and see if I can find a color that might work before I make it a reality. *wisely-chosen pulls off exotic eyebrows, but she is pretty enough to pull off anything in my opinion, including her awesome hair colors.

Great idea , I never would have thought of that... using Photoshop would allow you to test color combinations and placement. Have you ever tried dyeing a guy's beard and/or moustache?

I'm not photoshop quite did it any justice... then again I was trying to be lazy about it. I have never personally dyed a guy's bear or mustache, but I've seen it done before - very creative.
