Description
His heroes defeated, his home annihilated, and his best friend murdered... a clever Matoran holding a golden mask finds himself to be the legend he was in search of all this time. Transformed into an all-powerful Toa of Light, Takua exacted the revenge he and all his brothers and sisters deserved. The Brotherhood of Makuta would soon come to know their greatest opponent as a gleaming figure of gold and white, and not even sucking his Light from his body would this weapon against the Brotherhood be stopped.Just a day or two after one that took a month to squeeze out, I bestow to you the 7th portrait of the 7th Toa. First off yes I do understand his name is 'supposed' to be Takanuva (merely just to disguise who he was in the comics), but that adventurous little sod will always be Takua to me
Trust me, he's not like Elijah Wood, real Av-Matoran are much braver. Remember the tactical work he did during the war against the Bohrok?

Oh yeah, Makuta? Well let's just have a look at 'Just Takua'.
'Just Takua' summoned the Toa.
'Just Takua' rescued the Ga-Matoran from suffocating at the bottom of the ocean.
'Just Takua' solved the mystery of the plague in Po-Koro.
'Just Takua' resolved all of Onu-Wahi's guild issues.
'Just Takua' flew with the Le-Matoran and helped save Matau and Lewa from the Rama Swarms.
'Just Takua' braved the cold of Ko-Wahi in search of Matoro.
'Just Takua' led the defense of Kini-Nui against all manner of Rahi.
'Just Takua' descended into the Mangaia and witnessed your first defeat.
'Just Takua' coordinated the Matoran resistance against the Bohrok swarms.
'Just Takua' and Jala helped the de-powered Toa Nuva hunt down the Bohrok-Kal.
'Just Takua'...was never 'Just' anything. He was a hero long before he was a Toa. And that is why I will never call him anything else.

From within Mangaia, darkness grew. Makuta Teridax had released his Rahkshi again, and again they were defeated. Now, he knew, there was a Seventh Toa - a Toa of Light. Takua, bearer of the Avohkii stood in Teridax's chamber. "You can no longer hide in shadow." A voice replied from the dark, "I AM Shadow... The Shadow that Guards the Gate. Now run along... Or accept. Your. Doom."

apparently the name Takanuva was a mispelling of Takua nuva but the writer liked it, so the name was kept.

Mask looks quite nice, but it isn't look like Awokii. And pose isn't perfect at all

Thank you kindly for the compliments on the effects, since those are what I experiment the most with in each of these portraits.
And honestly, Takky was the hardest thing to think about how I was going to do him. The pose I admit could have been better too, and getting the Avohkii perfect is definitely not my strong suit (I think it's the top hardest mask to draw lol). I dunno if you were specifically having problems with that or the fact it was translucent white; the reason for that was I was going for his sparkly "activated" variant that came with his set.

To be honest, even I couldn't draw something like this. Effects is not my element. My sketch will be good, but I think it would be without any colors. What do you think if we can combine our powers? My sketch, your effect. As soon as I finish, I can just show you.

I believe I got him on Christmas, and I actually put him up at the top of the tree. I was little lol
I have considered drawing busts of all the Piraka at some point for practice at facial expressions. We all know them to be the most emotive of MU species

Avak was always my favorite. When the playsets were produced, I saved up $40 and bought the Lava Chamber Gate just to get his minifigure.

Ha, for him I cam imagine sketching him deep in thought similar to Michaelangelo's David as he thinks of a clever way to off Zaktan considering the guy's made of Protodites.

It's true that takua was an av matoran, at first i didn't know what an av matoran was until i read they're matoran of light which explains why takua was destined for the mask of light
