Description Meant to upload this yesterday but then I hurt myself

An illustration of a hallucinatory scene from way far ahead in the Doom/Doom 2 novels where the space marine finds himself reliving the memory of his (great) grandfather first encountering the dark being who would later become the Cyberdemon -- from over a hundred years ago in the bygone age of 1946.

[Props to you if you get how the Doom RPG II incidentally makes this sorta canon, though I went ahead and stylistically fused the Harbinger of Doom final boss with Wolf3d:SoD's Angel of Death final boss]

I have a redesign idea for the cyberdemon where he has robotic demon wings built by the UAC. Its funny I should find this pic. Also good concept

Reminds me of in Doom 4 where the UAC attempted to rebuild the Cyberdemon, but with wings instead of an armblade :b

Personally, I liked the doom 4 cyberdemon design though I find it was revamped too much. The other returning demons in Doom 4 were revamped just enough to be both original and utterly recognizable as to create nostalgia in gamers who played Doom when it came out (or in my case when we watched our dad play Doom/ Doom 2). It was an awesome idea and I find the cyberdemon redesign doesn't fit that formula, though the hellfire sword arm was awesome. I think it'd make more sense if the Cyberdemon was a super-evolved Hell Knight since them and the Barons of Hell was similar enough in shape and built. I also thought Bethesda made the right choice with the Hell Knight design as I find the Doom 3 Hell Knight to be one of Doom's most recognizable monsters

If I recall correctly I believe the Cyberdemon was the first monster concepted for Doom 4, so judging from how I know ideas can change subtly over time it makes sense he diverges the most when he's so complicated its difficult to make major adjustments.

However he does work well for what he is especially with the Hellfire Sword to add platforming to the battle, and if you look closely he has design elements from most of the demons made later, and at least they explained his odd body style as being heavy internal reconstruction

"Well you see Doom Guy, all I want is to rule the world/end it. So if you could just please hand over that- "

No but seriously, THAT STUFF'S EPIC! Impressive as always!

"When does a culture become so civilized it consumes itself? Once it forgets the nature of the world they live in, that there are greater machinations in place than their self-destructive fear mongering and populace pleasing, and most importantly... when it is too late to prepare for reality to come crashing back down upon them like a man's very head underneath my hoof.

Over an hundred-thirty years ago I made the mistake of letting man recover before I intervened, but here in the confines of this memory of mine, the spear you hold is no more holy than the massacre that brought you this far! Die, now!"

This bugger just won't stay dead, will he? How many times has he been killed?

Well the initial encounter was more of a severe amputation procedure, but hey he's had to have died at least a hundred times alongside human history to live up to the classic Lucifer allegory

I'd say maybe the Doomguy'll kill him for good in Doom 4, but chronologically Doom 4 is Doom 1, and considering he's in Doom 2(to my knowledge, the cover art certainly says so), then yeah.

The final battle commences! I did not expect BJ Blaskowitz to be the man fighting the creature. The lightning effects really give off the feeling of power building within the weapon, showing just how dangerous the spear of destiny is.
