Description Her armor is light red. Anyone calling it pink might find that axe located in the wrong spot.

Anyway, just a scene I was having fun with. It's another test scene. I was also playing around with radiosity. The stonework was modelled in 3DSMax. Still not sure how I feel about the "water" in the scene, but it does lookt better with it than without.

Finally someone else who calls it light red I think there should be more light reflections on the water or something. I love this though Great job

I SO love her... Cute elves and catgirls are my all-time favourites

If it's the Bun hair for Aiko, where didja get that braid from? I want one too ^_^

What the water might be missing is the ripples...

The braid and bangs are from an Ultrasalon hairset. (A really, really old one.) I'm not even sure where you can get it anymore.

I had to do some work to make it match the bun hair.

...AND the bangs? Oh well, will look for it. Thx for the info. ^_^

Err.. the bangs are a mix of the ultra salon (princess?) hair and the Aiko bun hair.

Sounds like 'post-working the water' time to me. If the color of the armor was slightly darker, it'd be old-rose. Great work! She looks like she should be holding a cig between her fingers, though. Just a culturalism, but a funny one.

<.<

"armor"

not armor.

Armor gaurds the body.

"Armor" reveals parts of the body hoping to distract the male opponent.

Hey i like pink!!

Cool pic hun, the outfit is great, her hair fits perfectly (and i think the hair IS pink).

The water looks good but it misses something imo, maybe more reflection or sprakle?

Hmmm.. I agree with you totally. I also like the water, but it is missing something....

Yeah it's too flat? maybe if you used some sparkle brushes, maybe use some light effects in PS that could bring the water feel out, right now it's not really "wow it's water"

I think the water is fine, but perhaps a bit more of difraction and color could improve the visual effect. ^^ Here in my scenes, wherener I turn radiosity or Global Illumination on, rendering times jump from minutes to days!

Radiosity used to take a loooong time. But I just recently learned that the Megapov version has an adaptive radiosity mode that is orders of magnitude faster than the default povray version. Unfortunately, it drains the color from the water.... go figure... I haven't figured out what causes the color loss yet.

There have been a few new technologies that simplify and speed up radiosity calculations but I haven't played with it yet. Adaptive radiosity is one of them I guess, but it will only be available in the next version on Vue somewhere this Fall. So how is the commission attempt going? Did you get my other messages? ^^

As expected... they want way more than just simple renders... *sigh* I will probably never do this again. What in my gallery ever suggested that I like to do superheroes? Yet, both want them. One wanted a shower scene. *shiver* I can't even image how to do running water and steam clouds. We'll see how it goes.

ken1171 In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-09-03 02:54:12 +0000 UTC]

hehehe, a superhero was the very first commission I did about a year ago! LOL A shower scene would require some postwork but I think it can be done. I was requested a hentai scene, but I don't do that stuff. It's actually very easy but I just won't do it. I proposed a "sexy" version instead, and he accepted. I have researched commission price lists from a number of Anime artists I know but it's hard to compare 3D with traditional art, so I can't be sure if I am getting a fair rate. I wonder if any of us have an idea of how much our 3D artwork is worth?

I think the water does work with the scene though I'd use a murkier one is she in a flooding dungeon or ruin?

I like the hair combination you used

Lokai2000 In reply to AreeElf [2006-09-02 20:38:27 +0000 UTC]

I still learning about how povray deals with radiosity. For whatever reason, the color in the water dissappears when I turn on radiosity.... Still trying to figure that one out.
