Wow! I'm really happy with how the main tree in the background turned out. The textures are 3-D textures (the lichens) overlayed on uv_mapped textures (the bark). I've never been able to do anything like this in Poser's Firefly engine. The tree model was made by Zippy3D and is freely available at renderosity.
As for the rest of the image, there were many things I wanted to fix, but I just plain got tired of working on it. Too many other things I want to try out in Povray: cuastics, photons, radiosity, etc....

The outcome is fantastic! The elf looks very cute (very nice cloth combo!) but the eyecatcher extraordinaire is the sword! Looks outstanding!
