Description From 17th century and earlier grimoires of Icelandic sorcerors. I handcarved these from a branch of wildcrafted Rowan from the forest. Rowan has been used in Northern Europe for centuries to carve runestaves with spells. I split the branch in two and smoothed the rounded sides using my knife and sandpaper, then I carved the sigils on each one. The carvings are also painted with red water-based woodstain and finished with a handmade wood balm. Each one has been anointed with rowan and dragon’s blood oil and left to sit in the sun for a full cycle.

Clockwise starting at top left: Kaupaloki – Carry on your person for success in trade and business; Top right: Lesser Hagal – hang over your door or carry with you to protect from all magics; Centre: Hang over your door to prevent theft; Bottom right: Blood oxen-Earth-oxen – hang over the door or safe of your business to prevent theft both day and night; Bottom left: Paint with the blood of your right hand and hang over your door to prevent evil from entering.
