I love that you're addressing the obvious complications of this relationship! Vegeta knows he's a bad guy and has a pretty shady past, (you know, destroying entire races and their planets, etc.) So there's no way he could approach a relationship without guilt / conflict, etc. Honestly I think it's the complexity that attracts so many people to their relationship in the first place! When I first saw the comic quickly I thought it was a poetic image of him holding on to her as she turns into sand, fading into the earth as she dies, and then him waking up from a nightmare and realizing how vulnerable they both are. Then I looked harder, nope, just sex.
