[link] Part 1A lot of people were wanting a little Rival/Prideshipping, I was going to go for something less obvious like Joey or Bakura, or, heck, even Duke, (not that i ship any of those) but I decided to give the people what they want.

I officially hate drawing the hair on any given yugioh character, but thankyou (i did actually think i made him look a bit too cocky0 like Atem can be.)

You did amazing on them both, I love your take on Yuugi's hair, aside from the general adorableness of bedhead, I've always thought both he and Yami/Atemu look more attractive with their hair kind of weighted down instead of perfectly atar-shaped ^_^
Also, who wouldn't be cocky after bedding Seto Kaiba?

Yeah, i always found it boring that his hair NEVER MOVED. Even during the entire arc where he walked across America and obviously didn't have any hair spray with him (He even fell into water, and it still didn't go down). I would have liked to see his hair down or in a ponytail (for PE or something) at least once occasion. I think Yuugi's hair only got chibi rounder (especially when he went into Atem's soul room- his eyes and front bangs were fricken huge then. He looked like a toddler.) and Atemu's got to be at least twice the size of his head (see the duel on top of the train). Of course it didn't help that they also started using thick outlines.
Another thing, outside of season 0 where he wore gym shorts and swimwear, we never see Yuugi's legs, or any of the other guys for that mattter. we get to see Anzu's constantly but she's a whore anyway

Aha! You are so right. I won't even TOUCH the artistic inconsistencies except to agree with those you pointed out; and while I personally dislike ponytails on guys I adore nearly every fanart I see of his hair just.. down. I would love to know how it withstood water so well.
Oh, his bangs.. there's just some art of them when the bangs are so beautifully plush and wispy and I truly wonder how different every character would have looked if the anime itself had been designed by a shoujo artist as opposed to a more shonen/neutral style.
As for their legs, I don't know what to think! Inside those tight pants of his they look too thin to support his body; but then you've got Kaiba whose legs are apparently the same width (at least proportionately) and three times longer. You'd think the characters had no definition whatsoever but then you get episodes like 128 where they lift Katsuya's shirt and he's apparently ripped.
I just don't know.

You think every woman who sleeps with Bruce Wayne is proud of herself? The only difference between your average billionair playboy and Seto Kaiba is that you don't get any added (and expensive) bonuses for sleeping with Seto- he's too tight fisted and you'd probably have to dress up like a Blue Eyes.
Inconsistancies? I think the worst is how the millenium items change size. Hair grows and eyes change size with expression, but metal doesn't. EVER.
Now, the legs- Seto's are indeed very thin for their length (being taller than Mokuba on their own. He really is very tall, the kid has to actually run to keep up with his pace), but i think Judai and (sorry don't know his JP name) Prof Banner's are worse, i actually think they have eating disorders.
Yeah, i know Katsuya (hahaha, what an inappropriote name for his character) is ripped, but considering he and Honda used to get into street fights a lot (street fights with an alcoholic single parent? Can you say Yusuke Uramseshi?), it's not really surprising. I think we got a little shirtless fanservice in season 0 when Jou-chan was on top of Yuugi. Oh go that needs context; they are doing martial arts in PE and Jou-chan got thrown by Honda and he landed on Yuugi, when he got up you could see down his Gi (that doesn't mean i dont have that screenshot in my Yaoi file. XD)

Alright point one: Bruce seems kind of easy. Kaiba just seems to embody abstinence. Like he could care less if he ever had sex. Ever. That is why I seem to think it's an accomplishment getting him to that point.
The items. Oh, the items. I won't argue the hair/eye thing further as that's just their own fault for using different artists/styles etc etc. I mean, their freaking noses change size, too, if you wanna get technical... and their hands go from being bulky and short-fingered in some shots to having beautifully slender fingers and perfectly manicured nails in others. (I'm sure you can't guess which I prefer).
Back to the items.. I just... oi. There are no words. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual pieces of the puzzle friggin changed shape from one scene to the next.
Judai's body seems to be drawn more in a Pokemon style.. but that's just my opinion. I didn't like GX enough to give it the time of day so I can't comment on Daitokuji (Banner)'s character design. Unlike Yuugi, Yuki doesn't have the excuse of wearing tight clothing that 'appear' to make his legs look thin. I'd love to see the official artist prompted to draw them all in boxer shorts and try to explain what the legs beneath those thin straight white pants actually look like XD
Your opinion on Katusya does make sense. However, I wasn't intending to argue the idea of his physique, just that when clothed he showed no signs of such muscle definition, not to mention I can't recall any points where he exhibited great strength. Please correct me if I'm wrong ^^
And, not to be rude, but you don't have to explain anything to me about Season 0. I am well aware ^^

sounds like you get off on describing hands XD And yeah, the main piece of the puzzle (the "eye", which is the sign for the soul. the more you know. The egyptians actually believed there are 5 parts to the soul, but there "eye" represents all of it, hense the disco light the Yamis have on their foreheads when using their souls with the Items as an amp.) changes alllll the time, plus, the puzzle is sometimes hollow and soemtimes filled on the inside.
Judai is actually seen in his boxers (or in a veeeeeeeeeeeery small towel) on many occasions, his legs are surprisingly muscular. (just in case you didn't know, Pokemon and YGO are both produced by Toei, obviously under different animeka, so it's unsurprising that the two share traits.)
Yeah, I'm willing to bet Bakura has a nice phy-phys...BODY under those loose clothes too. And Marik has a damn nice ass. In fact, Marik is nice all over (considering what the Goddess Ishtar was famous for, it's not surprising. I don't suggest lookign too far into Atum, Set, Ishtar, Ra, Osiris and the rest, I know I'll never look at any of them the same again. Aparently Atum- or Atem as he's sometimes known- had two kids who he lost to the Shadow Realm. One was called Shu- the Japanese would write this name as Shou, or with the accent that i can't write, Sho. Tell me the name of Judai's bff again?
I didn't know whether you'd seen S0 or not, but if you hadn't i wouldn't have wanted to put you off with the idea that Jou-chan bangs his friend. So i put some pretty clear context on "he was on top of Yuugi".

I've noticed the detail beneath the lower lid of the eye is completely omitted at times which infuriates me as I know quite a deal about Egyptian Myths and have since before I even watched Yu-Gi-Oh! for the first time. It's always been a great interest of mine.
I've also noticed the hollowed/solid change... and while I know things didn't cross over from Zero into Duel Monsters, I also noticed that S0!Yami is capable of lodging the bottom of the puzzle into a building to break his fall while the DM!Puzzle seems to shatter if you look at it funny.
Oh, does he? I demand screencaps! Or at least episode numbers so I can see for myself without having to watch them all @_@ I will admit I did not know Pokemon was Toei. That does explain a bit though, such as shared VAs in both Jap & English versions.
Oh, so since we're discussing bodies, give me logic for why Marik is ripped, too? I mean, he spent his childhood living in a tomb where I'm sure he was malnurished, then traveled the world controlling others to do his bidding. Do you suppose he just.. worked out in the meantime?
Again, I know more than my fair share about Egypt, and did before YGO. I already had all~ the myths and facts in mind before I knew the Anime had anything to do with AE.

Hell yeah! In S0 i refer to the Puzzle as the Great Millenium Weapon, or Swiss Army Baterang, simply cos he finds so many uses for it. Even Jou-chan had a crack at being Egyptian Batman in the YoYo chapter. Yeah...YGO got me into Eyptology too...Isis and Osiris? Really? It's just wrong, your can't be siblings with a Duel Monster. Nor can you marry said duel monster. But it does explain Yami's affiliation to Ra (Atum-Ra).
Oh jeez, you making me do this? *Sigh* erm, Judai goes missing and is lost on DAI and he goes swimming, you see him get out the water. He, Shou and the rest go and have a bath together in one early season episode (Shou's towel is stolen...). He takes his shirt off in the episode with the Haruhi (cross dressing girl, i don't know her name so i'll just make an Ouran reference).
I love seeing what else seiyuu's have been in- Bakura in Bridget Jones in the Japanese dub of the movie XD
As for Marik- a. He has tan skin, so much for no sun. b. his eyes are developed into colour (they would be blue had he truly never seen sunlight. Instead they're a natural purple- just like Thief Bakura and Yugi and Dark and Lelouch and every other anime bishie. And you just know Mokuba grew up to be hot as hell., c. his hair is blonde, and not dyed, he must have bleached it in the sun. Marik's official BMI does actually put him at chronically malnurished. As for the ripped body- he was stuck in a tomb all day every day, like prison- and aside from trying not to drop the soap in the shower, what do guys do in prison? They work out, it's all they can do.

I have nothing against those who like Eygpt because of Yu-Gi-Oh! but being one who studied Egyptology before I knew of the series it can be irritating when you come across those who can't get their facts straight. I know you're only making comparisons because it's funny to think of it that way but there were a lot of creative liberties taken within the series.
Aha, I guess I'll have to look into it myself. In which case, it won't happen because I don't actually care that much.
It is indeed hilarious to delve into the profiles of both VA & Seiyuu. I for one am a big fan of Seiyuu humour wherein characters are drawn together or dressed as/acting like one another simply because they were voiced by the same person.
Egyptians/Middle Easterns are born with naturally darker pigments to start with, and when it shows him as a baby his skin is basically the same tone as it is as when he's a child (even before surfacing for the first time). What did his eyes have to do with anything, if I may ask? Not being rude it just seems as though you veered off-topic for a second there. As for his hair, again, born blonde. Not accurate for his race but you can't dispute Anime logic. I'd love to see you explain how a Pharaoh in ancient Egypt had tri-coloured hair if you want to take that route.

All babies are born with blue eyes, and as they are exposed to UV radiation from the sun, the pigments form colour. Ishizu has blue eyes and so backs up that theory, as does Shadi. But Marik's have always been the cliche "i have a malicious side" purple that all the slightly untrustworthy anime guys have. And babies may be born with slightly darker skin, but kept in the dark they will go pale- it has something to do with UV rays again.
I loved Egyptology back in year 4 (dunno what american grade that would be, i was 8/9yrs old). As we moved onto vikings as part of the ciriculum, and with my necrophobia (scuse my language but i am shit scared of mummies. I will never go near a museum for that reason), i kinda left it behind, but then in college i had a friend who like Egypt stuff, so i got back into it. He was gay so it was fun looking up egyptian yaoi on google- he doesn't knwo what YGO is, so it was all just smutty BL to him XD.
And finally the seiyuu jokes...so how many times have you seen Light Yagami/Death the Kid/Rene "Tamaki Suoh" Grantaine/Lelouche crossovers? Or Bakura/Satoshi? Or...i don't know...i mostly watch dub.

That's an unfortunate fear. I adore museums, I'm sorry you aren't able to enjoy them. It's a perfectly logical reason to deviate from an interest where they show up often, though.

I've never seen a Mai/Nurse Joy. Or Cilan/Sonic/(that guy out of Gravitation)/Alexis from GX's Brother cross. Or if you wanna go sub, Dent/Light Yagami/Death the Kid/Tamaki/that asshole emo out of uta no prince sama maji love 1000%. (Now imagining Giovanni with Bakura's bunny ears...and Mewtwo with Yami's starfish do. -_-')
I think Brock was okay, but over/under used in all the wrong places, he had potencial, but he was shunned for the girls who wanted to be coodinators (and cried way too much when they succeeded or failed. Plus, it was proved that being a coodinator was nothing special and anyone could do it when Ash entered on a whim and won joint first place with a worn out pokemon with a type disadvantage). I think that's why i like Iris so much- she's got soem good lines and a great characvter but doesn't get in the way.
