Stereotyped

Every day we live of our lives,
There are people who like to stereotype.
No matter what we think or do,
They always want to put us into groups.

They call us dumb, they call us smart,
Or they think we're whole, they think we're just parts,
They try to see
Our personality.

When people think of my friend Ben,
They think of some crazy old hen.
Although that is apparently how he acts,
Deep inside I know there's more facts…

They call us lazy if we're fat,
But that's not always the cause, in fact,
Disease and thyroid problems could be a cause,
So stop making people wish their lives could pause.

They call us brats if we're too quiet,
But calm down; don't start a riot!
It could just be they suffer from depression,
Believe me, it's not fun, I should mention.

Don't be mean, always be kinder than you need to,
Think before you just decide to do!
Every person is fighting some sort of battle,
So try not to give them too much of a hassle…

Next time you have a thought about someone,
And it involves information that only SEEMS apparent,
Stop and think before you say it;
You might be able to make more friends that way.
