This was a group from Youmacon 2008. Toon Zelda wasn't out in a game until 2009. Phantom Hourglass was released in 2007 but it only had Tetra, not Zelda.

If you mean Minish Cap manga that didn't come to the states until 2009 either. The anime/manga world was different back then and we didn't have access to as many scanlations or Japanese releases.

Also this was a cosplay group made up of friends. We didn't have anyone from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, or Windwaker. We didn't sweat it because we were having fun and we all loved zelda. This was not an attempt to have "every zelda."

Cosplay is a very different world now than it was 8 years ago. There wasn't much in the way of cosplay fame, no Facebook pages, we had to design our own websites, and photos were a lot less photo shopped. Plus there weren't any shopping services to buy from Asia except eBay. Wigs came in limited colors and styles from only a few sellers. If you wanted a special color you colored the wig yourself with sharpies and hoped it didn't rub off on your costume. There were no cosplay friendly sewing patterns. You had to alter what existed or completely make it up on your own. I've been cosplaying for almost 10 years, Maiden Zelda was my second costume ever. The hobby has come a long way since then.
