Description This was a tricky commission as I only had one rather fuzzy image to work from, but I really loved the color pattern of the piggy. Still trying to find out a really good way to replicate Abyssinians, attaching strands of regular yarn results in more of random fluffy look than in rosettes.

Pattern available via Ravelry , finished guinea pigs can be ordered in my Etsy shop

This is gorgeous. Β I used to have a guinea pig who looked nearly exactly like this. Β The fluff on the head calls to be petted...

So cute! Β How did you make him look fuzzy like that? Β I notice your pattern for sale doesn't have the fuzzy look...

There are two ways to make a plain amigurumi fluffy. For a moderately fuzzy look, you can just brush the crochet fabric with a wire brush like a pet slicker brush (effect depends on the material too, acrylics and animal hair yarns usually brush up well but always best to test in on a small piece). For truly long and/or really messy hair like this piggy, you need to attach extra strands of yarn to the finished ami, then brush it until it doesn't look like yarn anymore but becomes fluff.
