Description This would be the cover for my fic "Fuel". Many thanks to for her helpful coaching on how to use coloured pencil. The lettering was added in Photoshop. Otherwise, it's all coloured pencils.

ragedaisy likes!

looking good, especially the energy bonds...and that you managed that with non-digital means only makes it more impressive. One question, though, where is the light source in that room?

Thank you! The energy bonds were pretty simple to figure out, actually.

The light source is... from the front!

Very, VERY nice! I love the way it assults the eyes, and the Photoshopped lettering blends in nicely with everything else; I had to go back and look at them more closely when I realized that. The legs appear a bit small, and the right arm seems a bit large (but only barely), but these are minor complaints. Over all, I am very impressed.

A relentless onslaught of colour, perhaps?

Good!

*Nods.*

Thank you!

The first thing that catches my eye are those bright, "feverish" colours. (Pink on orange-red is bound to get a reaction.) I don't know how much of that was your intention and how much is due to the scanner (I know how colouring can come out differently in the scan), but it works well, IMHO. Adds a hint of the surreal (since Onsy is normally not this bright), and gives the impression of a very intense situation with lots of (literal or figurative) heat. (I'll find out when you post the fic, won't it? )

The second thing I notice/am curious about is the position of the fingers on his hands, esp. his right hand ("right" as seen from his side). It almost looks like a mudra of sorts - or maybe his hands are just twisting in pain?

No, it didn't escape my notice that his guns are gone, but since the picture depicts Onslaught as tied-up with energy bonds (mmmmmh, bondage!), it makes sense that whoever put him in that position would have divested him of his weapons.

I apologise for being none too good at given crit regarding "anatomy"/perspective, but I can't detect anything that would strike me as wrong in that regard.

Overall, a nifty pic. Strikes you in the face like "Woom!" in a good way, and thus gets a +FAV, both on general principle (since there isn't much Combattie art out there) and because I like it.

Well, thank you. Most of the colours are actually nicked from canon. His fingers are just doing generic things for fingers to be doing.

*leans in, squint squint squints* I see that your scanner is equally cruel to your Prismacolor work. I would recommend initial scans at 400 dpi, with any 'autosharpening' turned off or selected to 'none'.

I'm curious about the color selections.
