Description I've been unsure about this for so long, playing with it for so long, I have absolutely no idea what I did to this because I did it so many months ago.

Taken along with a l o n e and s i c k which is in the depths of my gallery..
Some may recognise this as Gloom by =disguy2k well maybe cause we took the photo at the same place and same time

I have so many variations of this piece, but I chose this one.. and I don't know why
has a bit more of a surreal effect.

and I'm sorry about the file size I already saved this file on 8 in PS and I was reluctant to reduce the size any further...

Interesting colors - Maybe contrast is a little bit to high, but anyway it is nice.

er... I have no idea
some part of the beach where there is this pier (a small one) and this is for boats and stuff to get into the water.. it's like a ramp going down to the water

gee i'm so specific.

I have a problem with the upper third of the image, it detracts from the rustic nature of the lower half- I believe. I think it would benefit from being cropped just above the highest sign .
It's a great image and absolutely beautiful nonetheless. well done.

I hope I helped rather than just sound like a tard.

man this is awesome! very intense and surreal in a wonderful way! i love you it feels like it should be a poster for some epic dramatic movie. and i think the contrast is right on... it really does make the piece.

most of your photos have a softness, a dreamy touch, so when i saw this thumb pop up on my watch, i was pretty shocked. this is rocky, harsh, deep in contrasts and shadows, almost overpowering the senses in the totality of the scene.

quite an impressive shot.

I really do like this heaps, the dock and waves are really wicked, but i think that it would be alittle better if the sky wasn't quite so colored, since the dock isn't that extreme. Still a really great shot tho, very nice.

hey my 300D is just as capable as Kris' 10D to take good pics and my photoshop skills, which suck, are still kinda capable of making something that looks ok - even though his skills kick my arse and is able to make more prettiful things.

well good choice i like how the sky and the dock has really intence colors but the water that has the really intence kind of falls back

i m trying to decide if the contrast is too high or good though

lylianthe In reply to gregdov18 [2004-06-18 15:40:05 +0000 UTC]

yeah I know. I debated the contrast thing for sooo long - hence so many variations of it. and cause my monitor is brighter than a lot of other people's, it would seem even darker to a whole lot of people out there

which is not what I want

yes the water too. I know. I think I just don't want to play with it anymore lol

lol i know the feeling

at school we had an awesome 2600 dpi printer but it the identities were missing so it prints much darker then the screen it was a real bitch to get anything to print right
