Nice!
I too am not too much into Nia for those reasons, though I like her when with Simon. XD

The hair might have been a lot of work, but dang, you did a fabulous job on it! I love the gradient you did, especialy where it gets a little, pink-purple then blue.
This image is goregous!

I adore Nia's design, but yeah...her actual character/personality is lacking a bit. But she sure is fun to draw.

Todella soma ja nΓ€tti Nia. Varsinkin tytΓΆn hiukset ovat mielenkiintoinen sekoitus realistista ja piirrosmaisempaa jΓ€lkeΓ€, jota valaistus tukee hyvin.

Nia is not more flawless than Kamina, really. Besides, the only reason she becames perfect is the fact that she met with Simon. Hell, Simon himself became as "flawless" as her after their encounter. Nia learned from Simon to believe in herself, the only reason she never submerged into a dark personality of depression and cynicism is her encounter with Simon. Thanks to the little Kamina statues and Simon's own strength, she decided to forge a life different from her "the thing" her father conceived her as.

Sounds kinda familiar, did you by chance paste that from somewhere?
Nevertheless I think Nia would've been tons more interesting if she'd had even one personality flaw or inner conflict to deal with. There was so much potential for that, knowing what a dark background she came from.

MilkyMagic In reply to maaria [2008-06-29 15:17:43 +0000 UTC]
The inner conflict was still there, it wasnβt overplayed because that wasnβt the point of the character, it would go against the nature of her relationship with Simon and it wasnβt really the focus of the show. She had to deal with being abandoned by Genome, with being revealed to be only a βdollβ TWICE in the show and she never go quite over any of them. Like the previous poster said, it was only Simonβs existence what made her appear βflawlessββ¦ just like Simon himself became equally βflawlessβ and righteous after meeting with her; so long as you consider relying on others to find your own strength not a real flaw, anyway.

Hahaha. I felt the same way about Nia.. She was so cute, but at the same time so boring with her flawlessness.
I am loving the way this looks. You did such a good job of capturing her essence, even though you used a more realistic style. This coloring is gorgeous. I love it.

Thanks! Just the regular round pencil with pen pressure adjusting the opacity.

So spending some money on a pressure sensing pen and tablet would be smart?
