Little Fili has met baby Kili with their father.
The character of their father (husband of Dis, brother in law of Thorin & Frerin) is just my own imagination.
My Twitter friend and me named him "Reginn", that's name from a poem of The Old Edda which our professor has used as a source of Dwarves' name!

I'm very glad to know that you noticed dad's hair and braid style looks like Fili, but his nose looks like Kili's.
Me and my Tolkien fan friend have talked about this issue as a fan talk. The result was; Fili's face came from Durin's line (from Dis and Thorin), but Kili's face came from his father (in this picture).
But Kili's black hair is Durin's one, so we thought their father has blond hair.
Then, here's their dad has Kili's face, with Fili's hair!

A beautiful style, but theres something about the father's face that seems kind of effeminate... the eyes, perhaps? At first I honestly thought it was a very different take on Dis... regardless, I love how you colored this and your line work. Keep up the good work!

I think there's some tenderness on father's eyes, because h is looking the first encounter of his lovely child and baby. So you would feel it as a kind of effeminate.
I'm glad to hear that you love this piece. Actually, I've done this piece by fully digital method with Painter 12. I've painted the color with half-opaque brush on the line drawing.

I think I've done well for designing of Fili & Kili's dad.
I've been calling him as "Nali", that name have taken from a poem of The Poetic Edda. Also Tolkien has taken Dwarven names from that.
