Description "The Waystone was his, just as the third silence was his. This was appropriate, as it was the greatest silence of the three, wrapping the others inside itself. It was deep and wide as autumn's ending. It was heavy as a great river-smooth stone. It was the patient, cut-flower sound of a man waiting to die." ~ From "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss.

Kvothe belongs to him, of course.

Quite likely the best book I've read in a good, long time.

You should read it. Scratch that. You MUST read it.

Bwaaaah! This is fantastic, I've always wanted to see Innkeeper Kote. I'm so excited for this. And not to shamelessly plug, but because I think you might be interested I have a similarly less drawn character in my gallery Abenthy. Feel free to view or not, but this is fantastic!

I can't take credit for the words. "The Third Silence" is from the book that inspired the art.

Lol-just finished Wise Man's Fear in 3 days despite working - eagerly awaiting the third book ....alas it may be years but both books are brilliant : ) Excellent Kothe portrait showing the innkeeper who is young still but deeply aged by his life's experiences

I'm reading, and I'm loving... Your painting shows he so so like the old and tired man he looks sometimes

It is a very nice drawing. Though, the eyes shouldn't be green?

They are green.

Not grass, anime green, but eyeball green.

Probably is my laptop or my eyes, sorry, I couldn't see the color. I love the drawing, really.

And well, I know people who have very green eyes, and I mean glaring green (not like anime, but really bright green).

Really? I've only met people like that with expensive contacts.

Sakuramar In reply to MaevesChild [2009-06-19 07:21:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know that most of people wear contacts. But really they weren't wearing contacts, trust me, I would know since I have to wear them (I don't have a linx's sight), and it's easy to see when people wear them.
As I said, they didn't have grass green eyes, as you say so well, but brighter than the most.

this makes a great older Kvothe, you can see the wear, or the sadness on his face, thats the face of a man who has lived a life of pain and sacrifice, i love it!

Thank you much. I was thinking of the quoted passage when I wrote it, so I'm glad that came through.
