Description I don't know if it is in any way obvious, but I'm working on a new style. I'm not happy with the inked style I have been using on the first page of my comic, so I have been searching for something that pleases me more. Now I am leaning towards pencils instead of inks, and simpler line art. This sketch was made with colour pencils, but for the comic I'm thinking (simple) watercolour. The picture does demonstrate my move back from the slightly more realistic style I had been using.

Colour pencils in (a brandnew *g*) Moleskine; some adjusting in Photoshop. Texture by Princess_of_Shadows.

Lovely colors - and I do like the texture. This style is really appealing, perhaps even engaging the viewer more than the previous harder - edged ink style? Could be just me, though

Thanks very much!

I always did like the sharp, inked style for my Snape drawings - I haven't done a single full-colour Snape that I'm really happy with. But for Gawain and his family it just didn't seem to work for me. So I'm trying to fingure out new ways to picture them...

So, it will be in full colours? That's a great fatigue waiting for you, then

I'm thinking about doing TDH in monochrome - pencils and grey watercolour/ink wash. But when Gawain enters the story I'd like some colours, yes. If I find a way to keep the colouring simple ("full colour" seems a bit much, and I know I'm not good at it), it should mean MUCH less fatigue than inking. Moreso because my inks look like they are waiting to be coloured .

Inking - the way I do it - takes much more time than painting. But that's no reason not to do it. It's just that I feel the inked look doesn't suit the story.

I have a lot of experimenting to do before I'll know it can work, though.

Thank you very much! I tend to go a little bit crazy with the hair - I just enjoy drawing it and making it look nice .

I'm not a good colourist, but I hope that by doing sketches like this I will learn to understand how colours work and gain some confidence...
