"Let the rain pitter patter
But it really doesn't matter
If the skies are gray
Long as I can be with you it's a lovely day"
Isn't This a Lovely Day - Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
We started dating in summer, so there was a lot of rain. Many of our first days were spent outside, while the world came down through the window. But we always played our jazz louder than the thunder.
I'm finally posting my pride art! I think five days into Pride Month is not that late, but here is the thing, I want to post more.
After all, it was with this woman that I started writting stories. My ideas grew taller and brighter, and so did my art, flowing at more speed, and more joy, than ever before. What Luh did for my head - for my mind - is beyond any word I know in portuguese, my language, let alone in english. But she did transform me to who I am today.
I hope one day she knows how important she is. I try to show her everyday.
Orange seemed like the right color for us. It's the color of heat, one of the colors of summer. The complimentary, many times, to the ocean blue that filled our days while in my boat.
Orange also goes for healing in the pride flag. Our healing, that we do together everyday, against our own hardships and against any hardship LGBT+ people might go across.
Healing makes us new, stronger. More ready. Resilience is the word that comes after it.
Luh made me more resilient, more hopeful, more confident.
I love you, sunshine. You were always my best friend.
I'll post the non-orange version soon.
For now, in case you guys don't know, I'm the glasses one, Luh is the other.
Luh is also
I'm bisexual
She's demisexual
I know we look like a gay couple at first glance, but it's important not to erase any sexuality!
Happy Pride, everyone!!
