Description Okay, here's the last of the three memes I did.
This time it's s Lord of the Rings meme.
Too bad I don't know how to change the background colour. It would look a little better if it was all green. Well, that's just too bad, because I don't know enough about Photoshop to do that yet.

The meme is Β© and The Lord of the Rings is Β© Tolkien and New Line Cinema

Also, I tag
Now you have no choice... mwahahaha

Hehe. Yes! Let's take over the fandom (and the planet, but all things in due time)

This is so old, though. I have a tablet now. I should probably do more memes just because I can.

A collosal hug to you!

It's fun to see a meme where the drawings are good Often they are very sketchy. And I like your sence of humor

I managed to get about 50% into the books before I gave up and saw the movie. I liked them movie better. I guess I'm more character oriented and I don't like having to read a paragraph about the sky before hearing anyone speak.

*ducks as diehard LoTR purist fans throw rotting vegetables*

Heehee, yeah, they do like their rotting vegetables, those LoTR purists.

I must confess, I didn't read the books till I'd seen the first film. Then I thought: If the film's this good, I've got to read the books! and read them all in a month or something like that. But I've got to say I actually like the Silmarillion better. I sense vegetables, I'd better duck as well.

FARAMIR HAS BLACK HAIR! Yay for him!
Denethor sucks!
Eowyn is awesome!
For my age, it's weird, but I did read the book before I watched the movies(actually...it's weird I have read the books, anyway). I was too young when the movies came out, and when I was kinda older and could watch them, I always forgot to rent them and when it was on the tv my parents didn't let me watch it cause my little sister was in the room too. Finally, I got to read it(last year) and I'm now a really really big lotr fan.
Wow... this was pointless. I could just say I read the books before I watched the movies... but anyway, I'm crazy

PS. TREEBEARD PWNS THEM ALL!

hm...id actually say watch the movie first to avoid dissapointment, or spoilers i read rotk before a movie and i regret it. I mean i loved the movie but i spoiled it. other story with eragon. i've read about 30 pg of the book and saw a movie, and by that i can say that they cut like 50% of the book.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Maitia In reply to Sythgara [2008-09-28 22:35:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, I suppose it varies. I actually think they did a good job adapting LotR, Lolita (the one with Jeremy Irons) and Memoirs of a Geisha for the screen, but The Golden Compass (or Northern Lights, its original title) and some of the Harry Potter films were absolutely slaughtered in my opinion. So I generally read the book before seeing the film. If the book's rubbish, I don't want to watch the film. I must say that I gave up after about 20-30 pages of Eragon.

Hi! I definitely agree with you. Both of you actually... I do notice that when I see a movie and then read the book the movie is based upon, I tend to list things that are different and that would disappoint me in the movie if I'd read the book first and gotten a different image of, for example, the characters (*cough* Boromir and Faramir *cough*). On the other hand, I was surprised at how close the movie Twilight was to the book (I saw the movie first). But as you say; it varies. I'm not sure if I would have been disappointed in the LotR movies or not if I'd read the books first, and not the other way round.
And don't get me started on Eragon! I fell asleep after 20 minutes of the movie... The odds that I'll read the books aren't that high...

(I LOVE your signature!!)

Maitia In reply to annipannipytti [2009-03-09 00:45:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I feel the same way about Faramir and Boromir. They just didn't seem right to me.

I actually started reading Eragon, but by page 50 or so I was losing the will to live, so I stopped and I never saw the movie. The same thing happened with Twilight, only I didn't get as far as page 50. I saw the movie, though, but it didn't impress me at all, so I left it at that.
I guess it was just to teenage-romance-ey to me.

Anyway, I'm glad you feel the same way about movies-books and thanks for the sig love. It keeps proving itself even at university. Hooray for clever slackers!

And I have the same opinion on Faramir

Heh, it's nice to meet a kindred spirit. Faramir is handsome and brave and dark-haired, whatever he looks like in the movies.
I shall take my revenge by flooding DA with drawings of him, I think.

And thanks for the praise and for faving this. I really appreciate it.

Thanks, but I still think I'm going to have to study and draw horses more. I mostly draw birds, foxes, fish and humans. Oh, and turtles. They're awesome!
