In the 21st century I was a bodybuilder, the doctor blamed my steroid use for my prostate cancer. I learned it had already spread to other parts of my body. When discussing my options I found out that if the survival estimate was less than 50% my budget health insurance plan only paid for euthanasia. I scoured the internet for treatments I could afford with my savings until an advert for a cryonics company caught my eye, the full-body option was too expensive for me, but if I used up the last of my savings I could afford to freeze my head. So after about a week I had sold off my apartment and possessions and headed to the cryonics center. After signing lots of forms I was in the operating theatre lying on the table as the guillotine was placed around my neck. Without any warning the blade sliced through in a split second. You can stay conscious for over half a minute as the blood drains from your head. So I remained awake as the nurse turned my head around put my head in a bucket and clamped tubes into my neck arteries, then flicked the switch to pump antifreeze and preservatives into my brain while simultaneously the cooling fluid filled the bucket, everything went black. I saw visions of faces and bodies. I opened my eyes, the ceiling was white. "Shouldn't I be frozen by now?" I said. My voice was squeaky I grasped my throat it was small smooth and stubbleless. "I have a neck it worked!" I squealed as I bolted upright. The foot of the bed had "NANCOTEK NANO-MOLECULAR-BIOPRINTER 7680" written on it. The walls and floor were covered with white tiles. On the opposite side of the room, there was another spacey table with a naked blonde woman sitting on it. "Whoa sorry, I did not know you were there." I blurted as I averted my gaze to the other wall. "Tell me when I can open my eyes" I said. "Can you hear me?" after an awkward 10 seconds I peeked through my eyelids the blonde beauty was still sitting in the same position. I opened my eyes, she was staring at me, I waved my hand and she waved simultaneously. She started smiling so I relaxed and smiled back. "So do people wear clothes in the future?" I asked, and noticed that she was silently mimicking me. Then it finally dawned on me, I looked down at my breasts and squeezed them while the blonde lady did the same, it was a full wall mirror. I ran towards it almost falling over as I was thrown off balance by my wide hips and skinny legs, but proceeded to start examining and probing my body in the mirror. A robot came through the door, "Hey, who's in charge here!? You turned me into a girl!" I vented,
"I see you have woken up." the robot chimed. "There was no preferred body profile in your data files so the body preferences of your brain were analysed on revival. This is the form your brain responded most positively to."
"Positively!? Well yeah she is hot! But this is not me! I am a bodybuilder I have big manly muscles, not tits and hips."
"If you insist you can have your body reprinted at a cost of 121 qulats per kilogram, but the charity only gives you 5 qulats per day to live on. But I can give you a complementary set of clothing at a value of up to 20 qulats." I was furious as I snapped the tablet the robot was offering from his hands but when I was browsing the fashion catalogue, I got to the more feminine dresses I started giggling and getting excited despite myself and chose an elaborate 19 qulat dress. Although I giggled as I put the dress on I was still cross as I exited the facility to take my first walk in this city of the future. Then as I walked around the city full of wonder I felt so graceful in my new dress and body and finally realised the robot was correct, this is the body I will be happiest in, I was full of joy and anticipation.
