Description A pencil drawing of Maxwell "Diesel" Trane, a character made for the world of "Lv. UP!" He is meant to be a friend of the character "Mag."

Diesel has known Mag since childhood, as they've been next-door neighbors since they can remember. They've been close friends since they first met, causing some folks to believe they may have a relationship going. But there's no notable signs of romance between them.

Like Mag, Diesel is an athletic individual, though his focus is primarily on football. And he's well suited for the sport; he's very strong, and can take quite a licking, hardly flinching during it all. He will plow through most defenses effortlessly and take out anyone that heads his way with great force. It's this trait, unstoppable force, that's given him his nickname "Diesel" Trane.

He has great determination in the sport, focused on doing his best to help the team win. Despite his dedication however, he is actually a friendly individual, humble and somewhat shy. While most of the other players tend to act like they own the campus, Diesel leaves everyone alone and acts like he's no big deal. His strong feelings of justice sometimes cause him to help a person that being bullied. If the bully doesn't stop when he shows up, he'll make sure the bully stops, even if a few broken bones are necessary.

Diesel dons his armor-like football uniform in battle as well as for the sport, providing him some extra protection. When attacking, he'll use either his bare hands or his metal sledgehammer, the "Gridiron," and put all his force into the attack. His real drawback is his below-average reaction time. He isn't always ready to guard from an attack, and his attacks take time to prepare.

But he also has the disadvantage of poor logic skill. He stalls when having to make a big decision, and typically seems clueless when asked how to solve a problem. Even math and science classes stump him half of the time. Because of this, and his bashfulness, he acts as more of a follower rather than a leader. He wants to improve this skill, but obviously he's having a tough time figuring out how.

Of note: After having almost drowned after falling out of a boat, Diesel has since gained a fear of going into the water. He is even hesitant to enter a pool.

Thanks! I'm happy with how it ended up looking. It's been a while since I could start and finish a drawing; a bit of a slump kinda hampered that ability.

Woah... it's like life is a videogame. Reminds me of Scott Pilgrim. Someday I WILL get those graphic novels, then see the film.

Mm, I think there's a little more video game influence going on in Lv. UP!, as it seems the characters and scenarios have heavy RPG influence.

The cast was in need of some more muscle, so here he is. :3

Wait, a sledgehammer? Isn't that illegal in football? Then again I guess this wouldn't be your typical football.
*Throws yellow flag* "Illegal sledgehammer, 15 yard penalty, repeat 1st down"

Sounds to me like a character that would have a private tutor that he doesn't tell anyone about out of embarrassment of looking bad. Maybe Mag perhaps? I mean, in any school, if you want to play, you've got to keep those grades up.

But I've got to say, it's nice to see you drawing again.

Well, I don't think he uses the sledgehammer for football, but it is intended for combat.

And yeah, there's a good chance that Mag may have helped him with some of his trouble spots. He's still bound to stumble on it a great deal, but he does well enough to keep out of the danger zone. :3

I *think* I've gotten my drawing hand back. Maybe I got lucky. But then again, I'm quite pleased with how Diesel's drawing turned out, even if there may be a few slight detail differences between it and the sprites.

Yeah, cause then I think that would be a really messed up football game.

I bet it helps that she's also athletic, because from the sound of everything he's probably a kinesthetic learner.

You know, you're the only one that can control your drawing hand. Meaning I wouldn't I would place it on luck as much as the fact that you just sat down and finally got your mind to focus on a drawing.
