Ugh, I'm in no shape to be coloring right now. Originally, I was going to lineart-ify the entire background and actually put a lot of time and effort into it, but, frankly I got tired of working on the piece. I've been feeling a bit stressed out and under the weather for no apparent reason, so I couldn't bring myself to focus on small details (thus, you'll notice this is both exceptionally simple and exceptionaly unrefined. Sorry -_-)

Moving on to the piece itself, here's what's-a goin' on: Clint (the main character in this picture) was challenged to break into Doverly Manor to steal a stamp of the family emblem. While otherwise a good kid, he was dared by someone he, perhaps blindly, admires, so he wants to impress his challenger. Thus, with his mother's lantern and lock pick in hand (why does his mom have a lock pick? O_o), he heads off to the gate. Unfortunately, he's a complete amateur at any kind of wrong doing, so he's paralyzingly nervous and on edge. While attempting to figure out exactly how to actually pick a lock with a lock pick, a small rabbit jumps from the surrounding bushes causing him to jump out of his skin, breaking the lock pick in the process To make matters worse, the gate security guard, Masa, awoke from his slacking at the sound of Clint's gasp, so as soon as he recovers from the bunny, he'll have even more trouble on his hands :3

That's the simple little story I made up as I drew it. I actually like the idea of the picture, but my execution could have been much better ^_^; This was maybe 3 1/2 hours in photoshop CS2, essentially serving as practice with lighting more than anything else. Technically, it was a scan and trace, but I ended up redrawing most of the details and proportions, so it was nearly entirely done in photoshop after all's said and done.
