maybe you should've done a break page between prologue and chapter one, that said "chapter one" with a snazzy picture. (sorry for this critique as well as the other, i just really like your art and want the rest of the comic to match your skill)

This is by far one of the most interesting and amazing horse comics I've seen yet. You are so talented!!! 
Little Engel looks wonderful here, and all of that evil around him, those claws and that malicious face! I love your shading, it's really brilliant, and you are so good at setting the atmosphere in a picture. I must know what happens next! Moar!

To be perfectly honest, I'm not really into the 'comics stuff' but this is one is just AWESOME! 
I think the story is really great and interesting and the graphics are brilliant. This is by far the best horse comic EVER! and so not...typical? wich is a bless. xD
And I think I already love Engel, by the way, haha. Gorgeous little foal! 
PS: Have you ever watched Supernatural (tv show)? If not I think you'd like it. (;

I gotta say, I love your style of drawing horses. I like the fact that you draw them realistically, which you don't see in too many comics, and the ones who attempt realism don't always do the best.
And I love this little foal. The mark on his shoulder is really cool. haha

before i start the actual page i make a consept sketch, this is usually where i figure out how to devide the page and the pannels and the rest
