The lighting in your pieces really catches my eye. it's radiant. May I ask if you produce this result on a tablet? or traditionally?

I used a mouse for that one I believe, but my new work is on a tablet mostly, with some traditional... I do it all.

I just started coloring recently and still don't have a tablet. I was just trying to figure out how to gain that kind of lighting effect. it's awesome

Well that is easy enough to tell you, it is all about contrast. I have dark blues against vibrant yellows and oranges and reds. Orange and blue are opposites, so the orange warm colors really pop out in the picture.

Thank you, it is all about bright colors. You do yours traditionally, right? Use a combination of markers and colored pencils would probably get you closest to my digital, and my traditional is usually markers.

I do mine digitally using gimp 2.6 I've only been at it for 2 months so I have a lot yet to learn. still learning all the cool stuff that's possible with layers and filters etc...
I've never done visual art before and I'm really enjoying it, writing and music are where most of my energy is focused still but I love branching out into this new facet of art.

I see, well just experiment a lot, that is what I did when I got started, have fun, try things out, and just mess around.

Your work is just phenomenal! I really enjoy the details, each and every fold and pattern in the clothing, shimmer in a strand of hair, highlight in the trees, beam of light. It's all very gorgeous, really. Stunning. Keep it up! This is impressive stuff right here.

It helps. Just keep working on it, and watching what artist who you respect do and analyze what you are doing well and what you need work on. That is what I do

That is too bad. I think that it is important to show when one appreciates something. I looked through your gallery, you have some lovely art and a good technique. ^^

aww thank you, but I wish I was better, I have always hated how I do things and wished I could find out how the 'really good' artist do their work..*hint*
One day I will be good enough that someone will notice me and ask me to do something for them and I will be RiCH!!!! Just kidding.

That is an honor, because you seem to be a pretty good artist yourself. If you do want tips on my technique however, you only need to ask and I will do what I can to answer... but the more specific the better in that regard, and still, I don't think you much need MY advice.

aww, I think everyone matters. it's finding those who actially care about what you do and what you can show or teach them, then there's those who feel your not at the same level as them so they don't even bother to talk to you, it's those ones that I have not respect for. because if they think about it, they were new at one time and needed the help and the guidence of others and they asked millions of questions and probally got the same treatment they show the ones who ask them questions, but instead of helping them knowing what they are going threw they toss them aside and act like they aren't even alive. But theres this thing that I call and belive in, it's called karma, one day they will get the same and won't like it and might think about those they treated badly.
that's why I won't be like them and I will always try and help out as much as I can. So that's why I like you and others who take the time and actually take that 5 minutes to help others.

I agree completely with you... but some people get so much attention that they can't respond to everything... so I'm careful before I make that judgment... still, it is annoying when an artist gets impersonal... and I find I'm less likely to even LOOK at, let alone like their art when they are that way.
