Description
An assignment for class. We had to create and paint any kind of artifact. I imagined this to be an important gem that is protected by a tribe that worships birds. They were from a snowy mountain.I learnt quite a bit about painting metal and crystal as I haven't painted those in detail before ˆˆ" Still needs work but I guess I'm going to move on!

I love the design of this, it's very well done! The flowing design of the metal looks great (with the bird design blending in yet also noticeable), and the blue gem in the center looks very realistic, the facets reflecting the lighting very well.

This pretty well done. The cleavage lines on the crystal are very realistic. The depth and internal refraction are excellent. The texture and shading on the metal are consistent. Kudos. Although the base looks a bit like stone rather than metal, but I suppose you could blame that on the mist.. Which is also amazingly done. The bright spots are consistent with the light source.
The bird's shape and wrap-around design are excellent.
If this is original, which it sounds like it, you have a gift. (And have earned a Llama)

I received some help from my lecturer on how to make the wrap-around design look more elegant but other than that, it is original :> Thanks for your generous comment (and llama)!
