The technique of using simple shapes, and combining them with more complex ones and sophistication in detail draws the attention of those looking at it. The used style feels very original, as does the design itself. Using the colors around the figure makes it feel as if life surrounds this mysterious man, and him having no color, gives the impression he is a man of shadows, or of the night. Incorporating the severed head gives the darkness to the picture, also suggesting the man could be some sort of assassin, or possible warrior.
Using blacks and oranges gives the sense of autumn, adding to the detail and originality. surroundings. Keeping the background white was also a good choice, as none of the colors were muddled or hidden. The attention to the detail on the left, keeping everything smaller and finer, but keeping the left more solid gives the impression that this manβs world is breaking apart.
The manβs position, keeping low how he is, does not give the sense of pride or really showing off- but rather, that he has killed others many times or that it does not affect him who he has killed. His entire posture also gives the sense of calamity, and seriousness. These both add to the other aspects around him, drawing out the feeling of balance. The proportions were also handled well, nothing feeling out of size or place. This design is overall clear, the unique design appealing to sight, and the other senses. This has clearly been thought out well, bringing forth a spectacular piece of art.

I love the way you combined modern art techniques to a more classic theme. The black and white textures really add to the character's danger and fearfulness (both in the reflection and out). Whereas the warm colors you have added give the image a more interesting and eye catching effect.
I also love the details along with the time and effort you have put into this image. I find it depicts what emotions were going through your mind at the time, and the way you show them is truly breath taking. I would love to see this in an art show sometime.
Although, this piece is truly a master piece in my opinion, I have seen your amazing gallery and I would love to see some full art color art, sometime.

Very interesting composition. Honestly, at first I wasn't looking that closely because of the positioning of all the elements, but those "flaws", if you will, are what make this picture really unique and intriguing.
Positioning the main viewpoint right in the middle is uncommon (unless you're doing character sheets or pin-ups), but then using that viewpoint to also cut the picture almost right in the middle is even more uncommon (and as my professor always put it "make you look like an amateur for not using the golden ratio"). That is not true here and makes absolute sense. To try and depict it differently would be to tell a different story...
The bright colors in the background at first catch your attention and then direct your view to the darker, more shaded area in the middle where you discover this warrior/sentinel who personifies the word "camouflage" by blending in so expertly. And then - even better yet - the story continues and you see the head and start to make up the story...
And now, even after quite some time looking at it, I still discover new hidden stories.
To conclude the wise-ass-ery: I totally love it

Very intriguing and thought provoking piece. There a lot of things I could say about this because there is a lot going on in this picture. But this pictures busyness is one of the things that makes it so beautiful. Along with the splotchy background. It really draws you in. Also the reflection really gives you more on what is really in the background. (At least I think it does) It makes me wonder if the person that is looking into the water at his reflection is actually the reflection. The demon in the water seems to be the way he appears to others while the man looking into the water is how he sees himself.

A very intense work.Β Usually orange is a sign of warmth, but here, with the bit of grotesque occurring in the middle third, it is much more a color of warning and danger.

Amazing piece of work!
Contrast between the orange and black is appealing to the eye.Β It's colorful, but still maintains what's your trying to get across.Β With the hidden warrior, his demon head, and victim all black.Β Even can see how the mood is set by the frown on the warrior.
