Well, a few weeks and countless hours later, and I've finished. I took into account the advice that everyone gave me, but ultimately went with what I felt the best about and what I was most comfortable with.Dude, I am so proud of that explosion. >_>
This is about 25% of the original size, so I took some full size screencaps for a few details:

Overall, I'm really happy with it. I may go back and tweak it a little bit, but for now, this is it. I was going to Rickroll you all with an additional link, but since everyone was so nice with their input, I'll be nice, too.
EDIT 01: I made some changes based on suggestions this morning. I'll be going back in and working on the background soon.

I would agree that something should be done to the background, no idea what other than maybe a little bit of line art. The explosion is wicked good, leave it precisely as is.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what, exactly, to do with the background. As it is, it looks about ten times better than it did originally. I just need to keep poking around at it, I guess!

Niiice.
The only thing I would say is that I'd keep adding detail to the background until you can't stand it anymore. You've got so much going on with the armor that to me the background looks unfinished by comparison.
Or, rather than adding more detail, add some line art to it to keep it a little more consistent.
But! I like it. And when it's done it's done. ^_^

Thanks! Yeah, I totally suck at backgrounds; that's the main part I'm probably going to tweak. I messed around with it for a long time before I just sort of decided that hopefully Shellhead and the explosion would take the focus off of the landscape itself. >_>
