1992, Barcelona. For the first time in Olympic history NBA players are allowed to compete in the Olympics and thus the 'Dream Team' was born. They decimated the competition and I love them. I grew up in Chicago in the 90s so basketball was kind of a big deal.

But just recently I read about 1992's 'Other' Dream Team from Lithuania and I fell in love with this sport all over again. They won a bronze medal against the Unified Team (formerly known as the Soviet Union) that year but to them it was like gold. Please educate yourselves: [link] . A documentary has been made and (from the looks of it) will be in limited release in September.

Lithuania has again advanced past the prelim round with wins against Nigeria and Tunisia (and nearly beat team USA!) and will play Russia on Wednesday. I could not pass up the chance to whip out some Hetalia fanart. Lithuania decked out in the tie-dyed warm up uniform (courtesy of the Grateful Dead) sporting the bronze medal. Heres to a repeat in London! <3

Proud of this. That stupid shirt was a pain, I like how it came out though. I had to draw the design in a seperate document, too bad some of the details didn't show.
