Description This is a favourite among my pictures of Peggy. The original version is of 2005 (in left side). I've slightly altered this image in April, 2012 (in right side). The alteration is noticeable : which is it ? Why did I do that ?

In fact, most of Times Square has now been made into a pedestrian mall, so removing the taxi makes it look more up to date. I'm glad to see the hot dog prices have not gone up in 7 years.

Oh God ! I didn't think of updating the food prices ! Nor the front poster "Alive" of the Embassy. I don't even know if Embassy still exists, and the McDonald's aside as well. I didn't ever go to Times Square and I've found inspiration from photos that might be of the late '80s.

And in this picture, Peggy is still not wearing sneakers, Helena. She gives you a big kiss, anyway.

Well you can hardly keep up every time the Broadway shows change. Peggy hasn't aged much either. She is a woman of her time, so I like the way her settings are.

And grown-up American women do not wear sneakers all the time. Her casual shoe is very appropriate in the city. (But young boys still almost all wear sneakers only.)

Certainly ! And Peggy looked you straight in the face, she gave you a big smile and she said 'Hi !'. Then, what did you answer ?

I would probably say H-h-hi! You look fab... I mean I like your... sorry, would you mind... can I give you... do you need help... No, of course not! (think think think)......... You know, my car has an automatic transmission, maybe you could be my driver tonight?

Peggy certainly would answer : Are you - are you one of those admirers of amputee girls ? You look nice anyway. Be your driver ? Oh yes, you bet ! I always enjoy driving cars, but sometimes I don't take care and I break them...

(BTW, in the next picture of Peggy, you'll see her car, this little Mini, yellow body with black roof. Peggy will be rather in distress, and it'll be 'Peggy's dilemma'.)

Yes ! I've been puzzled with the yellow cab for years, I thought it had nothing to do there. Broadway is a wide place, but there it looked narrow. That's why I've removed the cab and drawn figures of a crowd in place. It required just a hour work. Congratulations !

That's right, I've darkened the shadows on the ground. But it isn't THE alteration. Thank you very much for prompt comment, and try again !

Maurice, in France (unfortunately, I've never gone to Broadway)

Could it be the shadows?
Beautiful work, by the way!
