its a group on Facebook, there are a number of themes each day and you can choose something to draw within the 30 mins frame! so just search for spitpaint on Facebook!

It's so discouraging when you paint something and it looks awfull or when you wanna make it look a certain way and you dont know how to do it. I guess thats where studying and practise comes in. What ratio of study to paint/draw do you use? Like for every 1 hour of study you paint/draw 3 hours? How much did you study when you first started out and how much do you study now? Sorry for the barrage of questions, just trying to figure out how to become a good artist in the fastest possible way. You dont need to answer any of these questions if you dont wanna ^^

well, don't stress too much about progressing, i think you really need to look at the artwork you make now and look at the artwork you made maybe one year ago, or even a month ago, because you will see improvement there. And when I started I just made sure I did one piece a day, nothing more. I didn't even study anything specific I just drew whatever I wanted really! And personally it works great for me, I know it's hard to not compare to the best artists out there but the only comparing you need to make is on yourself!

Yeah I've definatly seen improvements when I look at artworks I did months ago. Problem is I dont feel like I'm progressing fast enough, might just be a personality thing I have. I think just drawing what I really want would prolly work great for me too, its more fun afterall ^^. You're absolutely right when it comes to comparing only to yourself but its soooooooo hard. Specially with all the amazing work on DA you cant help but feel a little sadness when you look at all the awesome art that you're not able to "produce".

What about art buddies? I'm gonna go ahead and guess you have people that you discuss art related stuff with or are you a lone wolf ^^?

Btw thanks alot for the tips and advice, really appreciate it.

Thats all you need to see! And I can really relate to everything you say because I think all that stuff all the time, but I know I can't do it because it will just stop me from improving!

I'm pretty much a lone wolf actually, got a few art friends though!

And no problem! hope it was to some help!
