So yes! Of course I picked Eizen as the Berseria character! And accompanying him are Edna and Zaveid.

this picture is half a year old, so while I usually love love love suggestions on how to improve in the next step - the next step is already in the past for me XD I even moved on to a second medium :3

The problem you realized with the scaling is that the girl is freakishly short XD canon says she's just 1.45m! Of course one would assume such huge size differences, so your impression was correct

Nothing. I understand that this boy scale is far from realism, as is normal manga is certain exaggerations and simplifications, a real athletic complexion your head would be small with shoulders in depression. Certainly he is very handsome. XD

First of all, your coloring made this drawing stand up, even in the size of thumbnail when i browsed around the group's gallery ^^
The most favorite part from this drawing of yours is the background! It looks so smooth realistic. I love how you paint the coconut tree, especially the leaves. The colors combinations are just right! Adding little orange to show how dry / hot it was in this tropical island, and the tree aging~ The sand looks so soft and clean ( talk about dreamy tropical island) it must be fun to run barefwet in this beach. I would suggest you to add grainy texture for sand that close to the characters ^^
I think the interactions between those characters are cute! It's a nice attitude of him, offering parasol to little sister, and pushed away the other guy! That is hilarious! The "fall" pose of that long haired guy is a bid stiff tough~ But i can't find good reference for this one, sorry.
The consistency of your shading made this drawing a whole, United. The shading contrast is nice, but it still can be pushed more. On tropical area, especially at summertime, the sun is shine so bright that make your shadow really contrast. And not just that, the heat will make you be grateful of tree's shadow, shadowing you. Now, talk about shadow, the overall shadow directed from right to left, so the main light source must be on the top right. Therefore, you should add more shadow on the girl and half of his brother's body. Shadow of the pink parasol! As i said before, your shadow need more contrast ^^
Shadow need to add on the bad boy's body, too XD. As far as i can see there is no shadow of his hair in his body, add it even just a bit ^^
As for wind direction, i must say that i am confused with this one. Judging from the tree, the wind is blowing from left to right. However, the yellow ribbon againts the wind direction.
Overall, i think you did a terrific job on this, especially the details & the background. I think you are talented on drawing natural background, i can feel the calm atmosphere, the sea looks so calm with small waves, perfect for swimming if you used many sunblock. The amount of details in this drawing is amazing, too! i love those laces on parasol and the girl dress design!

This is a really nice piece with a great background and three characters no less! The palm trees are especially gorgeous, and they provide the setting without being too much. The rest of the background is kept simple and it works great with the fairly detailed characters. The coloring on the entire picture is really well done as well, and despite the amount of work this picture has probably taken, no part of it seem rushed. I like the bright and saturated colors as it conveys the mood really well.
For the characters, overall the anatomy is good. The upper arm of the girl is really thin, like I know she is petite, but it seems a bit too much, I would make it less concave as well. The white haired guy's back should arch more, and not simply bend at the waist. I know he is being pushed, but it would seem more realistic to me if his entire upper body arched back instead of just bending. I like his pose and expression, it fits really well, and his hair his well detailed. The blonde guy seems fine to me, but if I wanted to nitpick his elbow pushing the white-haired guy could look more like the other one, to depict the muscles a bit more. Seriously, I don't have much to critique in this piece, it is really great. You have more patience than I do, I'd gotten bored of it after the first character!
I know this is not related to technique, but it seems you compressed the file a lot. If you're not restricted by file size, I'd suggest to put the quality a bit higher if you save as a JPEG. I can see some weird compression artifacts around the umbrella. Or maybe save a a PNG? Or maybe this is a web only version and you want to avoid theft, in that case ignore me.

I haven't played another Tales game than Tales of Symphonia, so I didn't know who was who. I tried figuring it out by the description but decided to go with white haired guy, to make it sure we both agreed who I was talking about.
I don't know which drawing app you use, but you should check if it offers options when you save. Photoshop has a slider with quality settings from 1 to 12, usually at work we stick at 10. Anything below 4 and you get these weird compression shapes. If not PNG is also a good option, it tends to keep the quality higher than a JPEG.

I guess I am, but so many games to play and not that much time. I tend to play only one game at a time and finish it before starting another one. So now I'm 96 hours into Skyrim and I am really far from being done (a good 25 of those hours where probably just me getting lost again and again, and getting my horse killed in the process)
I have Sketchbook Express, so probably not the same but quite close, and when I select Save as, I can choose JPEG and a slider lets me choose the quality from 0 to 100. But I never used it before, it came with my tablet. It seems like a nice program, but I work with Photoshop in my daily job, and I thought it would be better to try and improve my technique in this program the most.

Zaveid gave me so much trouble.... I had never drawn him before but he was essential to the comedic element of the picture XD
the gag is (I'll explain because you aren't deep into tales XD ) that Zaveid is a good buddy of Eizen who is Edna's big brother. And Zaveid is a total player and of course he asked Eizen if he could marry Edna (becuase why not!?) and Eizen punched him in the face as an answer :3
