i love charcoal so much but i have always restricted myself to still lifes with it. After seeing your gallery, i see that i can be more creative with it and do different stuff. I love the messiness of charcoal too, that is what makes it so fun!

yes, and there's vine charcoal, compressed charcoal, charcoal pencils... even tinted charcoal, and you can put charcoal dust on with a cotton swab. more flexible than most people think. hope you give it another look.

beautifuly detailed! and i love the honeycomb effect that is very subtle - is that the paper or did you draw that in? either way it's that kind of detail that takes a piece from being just cool to . stunning work!

thanks! the paper has a honeycomb texture. turned out to be a happy accident.
