It would've been if the FIA GT Championship didn't change the regulations for the 1997 season. Because the FIA required manufacturers to make a set number of road cars for the racing version to be accepted, it became a problem for Ferrari, specifically because of cars like the Porsche 911 GT1.

Yep! There were 6 planned, but Ferrari scrapped 3 of them.
